Shenley Church End – War Memorial Cleaning

It’s war memorial season again and there have been several war memorials that have been worked on over the last month in time for the 11th November.

Shenley Church End is one of the original villages that were incorporated into the new town of Milton Keynes.  A lovely village with the church at the heart of the place, adjacent to the war memorial under the jurisdiction of the local parish council.  The memorial required some low level cleaning and a new inscription adding to the back as a dedication to any servicemen lost since the first world war.

The memorial was cleaned with brushes and ammonia bi-carbonate, pointed in lime mortar and our stone masons added the new inscription.

This is what the client had to say about Inspire Conservation:

“Working with Inspire conservation has been really easy from day one.  Your enthusiasm and genuine interest in the work needed was obvious from the outset and made you stand out from other companies.  We were kept informed about what was going to happen and when, and the work was undertaken brilliantly.  Everyone involved took the time to speak to the residents and answer their questions when you were on site, and the feedback we have received from those who interacted with you has been positive.  I would not hesitate to recommend you and your team to anyone looking to undertake any conservation or restoration projects.”
