The slowly subsiding stone porch on Potterspury House in Buckinghamshire is now complete as we have finished our stone masonry repairs and installations. Inspire Conservation have sensitively restored the porch and repaired the failing stone elements which were a risk to anyone walking beneath.
The Bath stone pillar which was collapsing was dismantled and rebuilt to ensure its strength, including a few new stone insets and lime mortar repairs. The brickwork inside the porch was repointed and crack stitch repaired with stainless steel reinforcement bars. There was extensive stone replacement on the cornice and the blocking course as it had perished and was at risk of falling.
Here is what the client said about Inspire Conservation:
In terms of the renovation work that Inspire Conservation have so far performed on our porch we are “over the moon”! We were most impressed by the speed of completion of the first phase of the project along with the result. Your operatives are friendly, professional and hard working. Needless to say, we are looking forward to their return to finish the second & last phase of the project in August time. We will have to increase the level of stock of tea, coffee and sugar though before they come back!
