We are proud to announce that Inspire Conservation have won an Oxford Preservation Trust award for our work at Magdalen College, Oxford last year. We were encouraged by the local authority conservation officer to submit our project which was short listed from various projects that were put forward. Out of the 16 nominated projects in the building conservation category we were one of only three projects to receive an award for our outstanding contribution to Oxford and its green setting. Our conservation work received comment from the judging panel including ‘conservation at its best’ and ‘outstanding sympathetic stone cleaning and lime washing which has breathed new life into the cloisters and greatly improved the visitors experience’. With comments like that we are incredibly proud and thankful that our works have been appreciated so widely.
Details of all of the awards and categories can be found here:
Michael Sheppard, Director of Inspire Conservation and Robert Langley, Magdalen College Surveyor were at the award ceremony last night and were genuinely surprised with the reception to the project and very happy with the result. The plaque will be hung in the cloisters and the certificate held at the college.
We would obviously like to thank all of the staff that were involved with the conservation of the cloisters and the conservation project management team from Oxford and of course the OPT for the award!
We look forward to our up and coming specialist projects and maybe carry our professional skills forward to future awards!? Keep posted on Inspire for new posts regarding other projects and updates.
